Like a seed ready to break through its shell and sprout, the search for lasting healing from adverse experiences can be the same. This process requires a safe, stable, nurturing environment, nutrients and space. The work I do facilitates this growth and deep inner healing. If you are ready and have been looking for support to heal, understand or break through old patterns, read on.

Your safety and wellbeing are important to me

For this reason, before we begin a therapeutic relationship, we need to create safety and ensure we are a fit.  If we are meeting online, it is also important that you have a safe and private space to explore your feelings. We start with a complimentary 15-30 minute compatibility call for you to ask me any questions and give me a sense of what you are needing.

I believe that true and lasting healing lives within every individual

The work we do together focuses on that inner strength, power and knowingness to help you move into a place of sustained growth. The goal is to move beyond surviving and into a state of thriving. I am guessing you are here because it’s time to heal. And I am inviting you to uncover the healer within. Together we can discover how you can reconnect with your true self in a way that is both deeply healing and full of freedom and possibility.

Helping others find a personalized route to healing through
Trauma-Informed Art Psychotherapy,
Mindfulness, and Body Focused Approaches
is the foundation of my work.

Some of my specific programs work with Anxiety & Depression, Post-Psychedelic Integration and Removing Creative Blocks.  The areas I specialize in are working with trauma, symptoms of PTSD and C-PTSD, Autism, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, suicidality, addiction and other mental health symptoms.

Using art in session allows you to work from an unconscious place, allowing whatever is present to move to the surface. Feelings from within the body and mind move into the art in front of you. Once feelings are represented outside of the body, we are able to take a better look at issues with a different perspective to effect lasting changes in the mind and body.

If you have been affected by trauma, stress, or abandonment, it’s likely that you have created a number of emotional and physical ‘disconnects’ as a means of coping. You might be disconnected from your body, from parts of your being, from your essence, your intuition, your creativity, sexuality, or the whole world. These disconnects are the psyche’s way of dealing with difficult experiences.

The work we do together will allow you to have a deeper understanding of these coping mechanisms so you are able to move beyond them to live the full and joyous life you were intended to have.
I am not separate from what I do. I am familiar with trauma; it has moved through my life as well. The tools I have learned along the way and my studies as a counsellor and art therapist are what have supported me through this journey to transcend difficult experiences. But before we get to using the tools, my first goal in therapy is to SEE you and to UNDERSTAND what is it that you need to be the person you were born to be. The person you were meant to be before you had to cope, adopt, change, please, appease, flight, or fight for your survival. The work we do together will offer these tools to you, with me as your guide and protector, as you navigate your own personalized path to transformative healing. Once we know who you are and what you need, we will embark on a journey to help you recover your strengths, your resiliency, your gifts so you can dive deep, retrieve your treasures, heal the wounds, and come back home.  Home to your Self.

The idea of using art in psychotherapy has been around since the early days of Carl Jung.  This modality of healing has continued to grow and expand showing people how the benefits of making art in a safe, secure setting can be. Helping people resolve conflicts and problems, develop interpersonal skills, manage behavior, reduce stress, increase self esteem and self awareness, and achieve insight.
It is not about making beautiful works of art & and one doesn't need to be an artist
It is through the making of art that feelings trapped inside the body can be moved and expanded on, bringing an awareness to ourselves that was before uncovered.
Bringing unconscious feelings to consciousness for deeper awareness & understanding
Integrating psychotherapeutic techniques with the creative process, encourages people to express and understand emotions in a way that creates lasting healing.  Art Therapy can help a person give expression to their feelings and hidden inner conflicts that they may not have words for.

When people are then able to associate feelings verbally to the artwork created, the therapy speeds up recovery.
